Synopsis

This Alien 35th Anniversary Limited-Edition Set includes both the theatrical version and director’s cut on Blu-ray, along with audio commentaries, deleted scenes and more — PLUS — a reprint of the original Alien illustrated comic and all-new, collectible art cards as a tribute to the late H.R. Giger, creator of the iconic movie monster that started it all.

When the crew of the space-tug Nostromo responds to a distress signal from a barren planet, they discover a mysterious life form that breeds within human hosts. The acid-blooded extraterrestrial proves to be the ultimate adversary as crew members battle to stay alive and prevent the deadly creature from reaching Earth. Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Sigourney Weaver in her breakout performance as Ripley, this legendary first film in the Alien saga will leave you breathless!

Reviews

Erik Lundegaard Seattle Times | October 28, 2011

The most startling thing watching Alien again is its pacing. For the first 45 minutes, little happens. It's all slow, exquisite build-up, which makes the second half seem all the more horrific.

Geoff Andrew Time Out | August 16, 2007

The limited strengths of its staple sci-fi horrors always derived from either the offhand organic/ Freudian resonances of its design or the purely (brilliantly) manipulative editing and pacing of its above-average shock quota.

Variety Staff Variety | June 04, 2007

An old-fashioned scary movie set in a highly realistic sci-fi future, made all the more believable by expert technical craftmanship.

Keith Uhlich Time Out New York | February 09, 2006

Bruce Westbrook Houston Chronicle | July 21, 2005

A genuine fright classic.

Eleanor Ringel Gillespie Atlanta Journal-Constitution | March 07, 2005

Alien will upset your mind and upset your stomach.

Glenn Abel Hollywood Reporter | February 05, 2004

Alien looks amazing, almost like a new film.
