Academy Award winner Jodie Foster and international action star Chow Yun-Fat bring to life the epic true story of a woman who challenged the heart of a king and inspired the destiny of a nation. English school teacher Anna Leonowens has traveled to Siam to educate the fifty-eight children of King Mongkut. If she has preconceived notions about the East, the King has similar notions about the West. Cast & Crew
Director Andy Tennant has outdone himself.
Anna and the King is nothing but old-fashioned but it's old-fashioned in a glorious way.
A simple, no-frills story.
This may be the best and healthiest date movie of the season.
Generally interesting and sometimes emotionally affecting.
The new movie offers old-fashioned kinds of pleasures.
Holds its own against the beloved 1956 musical The King and I.
