Synopsis

In the year 2035, technology and robots are a trusted part of everyday life. But that trust is broken when a scientist is found dead and a skeptical detective (Smith) believes that a robot is responsible. Bridget Moynahan co-stars in this high-tech action thriller that questions whether technology will ultimately lead to mankind's salvation . . . or annihilation.

Reviews

Rex Reed New York Observer | July 23, 2004

For all its flaws, I, Robot is arresting to look at.

James Berardinelli ReelViews | July 20, 2004

By adeptly combining action and ideas, it proves that Hollywood can still produce astonishing entertainment.

Richard Roeper Ebert & Roeper | July 19, 2004

... a slick, consistently entertaining thrill ride ...

Desson Thomson Washington Post | July 16, 2004

For the most part, this is thrilling fun.

Ann Hornaday Washington Post | July 16, 2004

Succeed on its own terms as an entertaining mid-season popcorn movie.

Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle | July 16, 2004

[The screenplay is] good enough to keep things moving, to supply Smith with one- liners and to provide an excuse for the compelling backdrop.

Lou Lumenick New York Post | July 16, 2004

Surprisingly smart, cool-looking, nicely paced and well-acted.
